Camden County Recognized for Consolidation Program

Working with CPSM, LLC charted a course for consolidated services.

Camden County, Georgia, has been recognized at the national level for the recently implemented functional consolidation program between Camden County Fire Rescue (CCFR), the Kingsland Fire Department (KFD) and the St. Mary’s fire Department (SMFD).

The National Association of Counties (NACo) presented Camden County with a 2014 Achievement Award for its program in the category of Emergency Management and Response.

The Center for Public Safety Management had worked with Camden County on the process, beginning with a comprehensive analysis of workload and operations. it was followed by additional studies on the departments that were looking at consolidation with a blueprint for future success.

“It demonstrated the value of conducting a forensic analysis of calls for service and workload. It enabled the communities to determine that they had the capacity and how that capacity might better be used to provide efficient, effective and safe deployment of emergency resources,” said Thomas Wieczorek, Director of CPSM. “We congratulate them on a rigorous and thorough process as well as the award, which was well deserved!”
